From its inception as a company primarily known for its no-frills Beetle and Microbus models, Volkswagen has more recently emerged as a manufacturer of more upscale vehicles. Fine German engineering is apparent in the Passat, the Jetta, and the Eos convertible of the 21st century. Like most people, I drive to work each day. Unfortunately my work isn’t as close to my home as I might have liked, so I end up doing a thirty mile commute each way five times a week. The old Astro minivan doesn’t get horrible gas mileage, but it really adds up because of the sheer number of miles I am cranking out each and every week.
