Build Your Own Lexus 25
Aug
Posted by TheTopCar in Parts & Accessories on 08 25th, 2009

While trying to Google some popular car websites, I stumbled upon the Lexus website.  In its menu was prominently displayed “Build your own Lexus.”Being an environmentally conscious person, I selected the GS 450 Hybrid 08 model whose price starts at $55,800.After having perused through the website, I have come to admire Lexus.  Being a fast driver, I have a particular interest in wheels.  While I do not see any problem with Lexus wheels, I see the need for other types of wheels. I have also fancied as being a race driver so I looked for TSW wheels on other websites.

I figured it would be really great.  I want to hook up with other car enthusiasts.I really hope that I could find a community of socially responsible car owners.  Maybe it’s not just a Lexus that we build.  We can also collaborate in brainstorming for the perfect environment-friendly car.  Many different minds can each contribute to some website.  I know there are many geeks out there who would definitely easily give a hand.I salute Lexus and the developers of this website.  Many computer geeks are also great car enthusiasts.  Calling on car geeks:  Get your wheels and let’s rock!

So much to do! 23
Jun
Posted by andik in Parts & Accessories on 06 23rd, 2009

This week is totally crazy for me (which, to be honest, it’s starting to feel like I say that absolutely every week).  I just finished my first year report for my PhD, which sounds totally innocuous but in fact, I have to defend it next week, which, as you can imagine, is unbelievable nerve-wracking.  Just thinking about it, I feel like I’m going to pee my pants.  I mean, I know my stuff (I’ve spent a year doing it after all), but it still is really scary to be judged like that.  I have no idea what is going to go down.  In the mean time, I work on campus, and this is the week the students leave.

You would think that means down time for me, but instead it means I need to do double shifts to get the inventory covered before the summer students start up, which means I’m basically going to be spinning like a top for the next two weeks.  On top of which, my best friend from forever ago is coming to visit me, and I’m going to have to carve out some quality time to spend with her.  At this point, it seems like all these things can’t possibly be happening to me at the same time!  As a present though, my boyfriend took my car in for its oil change, because he said that as long as you change the oil, you can always count on my Toyota Camry parts to get me where I need to be-which, like I said, is a lot of places!  Wasn’t that sweet?

New Car Financing 22
Jun
Posted by andik in Parts & Accessories on 06 22nd, 2009

I know it’s not the right time to get a loan, but conversely, it’s the best time to buy a car.  How can that be?  And where does that leave me, because I just got a job, which I know I’m ridiculously lucky to have gotten, and it’s a long, non-transportation accessible commute away.  I simply cannot pass up this job, so I have to get a car.  How hard is it to get a loan right now?  Am I better going through a bank or the car company?  I mean, I trust Toyota parts implicitly (it’s totally the brand I would buy), but I really don’t know anything about loans.

I used an online calculator to figure out what I can afford, but I still don’t know if my credit rating is any good or if I’ll even get approved; my best friend was telling me that a credit score that would have gotten you approved a year ago gets you declined today.  I don’t have an extensive amount of credit history or anything, so I don’t know if I’m going to be able to manage it or not.  I only have about three thousand saved up, so while I can make a great down payment I certainly can’t buy a whole car.  I just find this whole process so overwhelming!  Any help out there?

The Best Truck Accessories You Can Buy 1
Apr
Posted by andik in Parts & Accessories on 04 1st, 2009

Most people buy trucks for their utility for hauling large quantities of stuff around. Now I know there are people who live in cities and suburbs who just bought a big truck like a Ford F-150 because it looks cool and projects a macho image, but I tend to think that most truck owners actually need a truck either for hauling around the tools of their trade or for towing a boat, mobile home, or a trailer loaded up with quads and dirt bikes. However, if you’re one of those people who regard a truck as essential to your work, then you’ll want to invest in high quality, lockable truck boxes for storing your tools. As the economy worsens, property crimes are on the increase.

Tools are some of the items that are most commonly stolen from vehicles, so you want to protect your tools with either a Jobox tool box, or one of the other tough, durable truck tool boxes that are available out there. Buying a tool box for the back of your pickup is really one the best investments that you can make. It protects your tools from theft and the elements, and it also adds to the resale value of your truck when you get your next one. One benefit is that you can even get tonneau covers that double as tool boxes, so you can protect your tools while increasing your gas mileage.

It is hardly running errands 28
Mar
Posted by andik in Parts & Accessories on 03 28th, 2009

I have to say of all the errands that I have to run every day all day long, it is the time that I spend out there going to look for toyota auto parts that I love the most. When I am off looking for those, it does not actually seem like running errands at all. It just seems like fun and relaxation, especially when what it is that I am looking so hard for is not just any old car part, but something fun like toyota 4×4 parts for my truck.

I think I want to take my truck out to the mountains out east this weekend and go romping out in the forest. I have not been able to do that for so long it seems because I have been just so incredibly busy at work and then at home. My wife has been working really long days as well so she has not had the kind of time that she used to or that she usually does to do household things like the laundry and the dishes so I have been helping there too. I like helping her out like this whenever I can and when she needs it but I think we could both use some outdoor time this weekend.

How to Find the Truck Accessories for Your Needs 15
Feb
Posted by TheTopCar in Parts & Accessories on 02 15th, 2009

bed linerThose of you who know me know that I consider myself somewhat of a truck accessories aficionado. You name the accessory, I know about it. I’ve bought more truck accessories than most people have shoes. From mud flaps to tonneau covers, I’ve had them all.

Because of this experience, I know about what to look for when buying truck accessories. I admit it. I’ve made plenty of mistakes when purchasing accessories. But I’m glad I made these mistakes. I’ve learned from them. And now I can help you avoid the mistakes I made.

Here are a few tips for finding the right truck accessories for your needs.

  • 1. Identify Your Needs- Before deciding on a truck accessory, you need to determine what you need. Do you use your truck for working on location? If so, maybe a tool box is the right accessory for you. If you drive off-road, maybe mud flaps are better suited for you.
  • 2. Do Your Research- The next step is to spend ample time doing research. Read product reviews, and learn more about the companies who sell the truck accessories. The more information you have, the better decision you’ll make.
  • 3. Make Sure it Matches Your Truck- Lastly, you want to make sure the accessory will look good on your truck. The best thing to do is to find pictures of your model vehicle with the accessory on it. This will make sure you fully enjoy the accessory you choose.

Made In America 27
Jan
Posted by TheTopCar in Parts & Accessories on 01 27th, 2009

bed matsI try to buy American products whenever possible. I want my American money to stay here in our American economy. That is why I have always had American made automobiles. Of course that means American made pickup trucks. I am just not a cars kind of guy.

I even try to keep my truck parts and accessories American. You can find everything from bed mats to hood ornaments that are made right here in the greatest country on Earth, the United States of America. So if you were to have suggested to me that I would be buying a Toyota Tundra, I would have laughed in your face.

Well it turns out that Toyota’s factory is in the United States! It is actually in Kentucky if you can believe that. So now instead of rolling my eyes when I read the reviews that the Tundra gets, I actually had to take a serious look. In fact my little look was serious enough that I ended up at a Toyota dealership filling out the paperwork for my new pickup truck. No matter how you slice it or dice it, it is an American made product. And frankly, it is a nicer product than anything that Detroit is putting out there right now.

Back Rack Investments Mean Money Well Spent 14
Dec
Posted by TheTopCar in Parts & Accessories on 12 14th, 2008

There are some products on the market that are added to a vehicle for nothing more than the look they offer. This is not the case for all truck owners, of course. Many of the people that purchase quality accessories are looking to add function to the vehicles they have so that they do not have to worry about them or get more from their truck. This is why so many people find back rack investments valuable. The fact is, they really do add value to any vehicle that is driven and used in this way.

On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with getting some great looks from your truck accessories either. And, there are items that are just must haves, like the tonneau cover on the market now. The key is to find the product that is going to provide you with the type of service you need or is going to enhance the way you use your vehicle. Of course, truck lovers definitely want the latest and greatest for their vehicle whenever it is possible to get this. From back racks to other products, the key is to purchase quality so that you are never disappointed in what the vehicle can offer to you.

Getting My Truck Detailed 13
Nov
Posted by TheTopCar in Parts & Accessories on 11 13th, 2008

I have a lot to do this Saturday. I’ve been putting off all of these errands for weeks, and now they simply have to be done. One thing I really need to do is get my truck detailed. It’s absolutely filthy. My white truck looks like its brown. It’s seriously embarrassing.

So, I’m going down to the car wash to get the truck detailed. Hopefully, they’ll get the truck bed liner, truck tool boxes, and fender flares looking like new. I picture my shiny truck driving down the road right now turning heads.

I also have to go get my hair cut today. I’m seriously starting to look like I fell right out of a 90’s grunge band. I’m long overdue on a haircut, and I think people at work are starting to notice. I don’t look professional, and I really need to fix that.

But that’s not all I need to do. I also have to go shopping for Christmas presents. This weekend will be the only chance I get to head down to the mall to pick up gifts for everybody. I’m not looking forward to fighting the crowds, but I have to do it.

Well, it’s time to get started on my to do list.

Back to School Car 26
Oct
Posted by TCV in Parts & Accessories on 10 26th, 2008

Back to school is always exciting for kids.  After a long vacation, they miss their friends and classmates.  But for us parents, it can be mixed feelings as expenses are definitely going up, even though we’ll at least get a bit more peace during the day..

Last September, my wife and I decided that we buy a new car.  Our old Mitsubishi lancer has felt too small already for our three kids who have grown up fast.

We were initially considering buying the five-door Suzuki SX4 Crossover because aside from being affordable, it is also stylish and perfect in size for my family.  I myself really liked it but I was kind of hesitant because I was afraid that it could be difficult for us to find genuine Suzuki parts in my area but people tell me not to worry about it, but definitely don’t go cheap and get back replica parts.

We have instead settled for the 2008 Ford Taurus X.  I love its gold-painted body side cladding because it looks so classy.  I am thinking of adding some accessories after I have saved some more because I will only add genuine Ford parts to it. I’ve looked at a few catalogs and online already, and can’t wait to get started.

Our Mitsubishi lancer is actually still in good shape.  Good thing we only used genuine Mitsubishi parts on it.  I am even confident that by the time my eldest son turns eighteen two years, he could still enjoy that lancer. At least I hope so, because it will be his one day!
