| Truck Accessories Have Such Tough Names |
26 Sep |
Have you ever had to purchase new (or used) auto and truck accessories? If you’ve done any shopping for truck parts then you might have noticed that the name brands that are popular in this business are all really tough names. This reflects the tough attitude that we expect people to have when they are regular drivers of trucks.
Take, for example, diablosport. This is the name of a brand of truck parts and accessories primarily used for automotive tuning. There are two parts to the name of this brand. First, there is diablo which is the Spanish word for “devil”. And then there is “sport”. Both of these are tough, dark, aggressive words that reflect a “truck guy” attitude.
Or consider bully dog. This is a brand of truck performance products that clearly comes along with a tough name. The bull dog that makes up part of the logo of this brand reinforces the tough qualities that are associated with the parts that are made for trucks by this company. And these are just two tough truck part examples; there are a lot of other names out there that follow the same lines. Just head to your local parts store and see for yourself.

Branding is all about relating to the core customer.
Since truck accessories are predominantly purchased by men, manufacturers of automotive products tend to use images, words or associations MEN can relate too. Tough or durable images are commonly used within the auto industry.
